Terms of Doula Service

1. Non-Medical Doula Scope of Care
Alma DoulaCo doulas provide non-clinical physical comfort, emotional presence, partner guidance, and informational advocacy before, during, and after childbirth.
Important Medical Disclaimer: Doulas are NOT medical care providers. We do not perform clinical tasks such as vaginal examinations, fetal heart rate monitoring, blood pressure checks, or medical diagnosis. We do not make decisions on your behalf or deliver your infant.
2. Complete Birth Package & Retainer Schedule
Our primary birth doula package, The Nurtured Threshold, is offered at an investment of $3,200, which includes 3 prenatal visits, 24/7 on-call availability from 37 weeks, continuous labor support, Golden Hour protection, and 2 postpartum home check-ins.
- Retainer ($1,100): Non-refundable retainer due upon booking to reserve your exclusive due date window.
- Installment 2 ($1,100): Due at 30 weeks gestation, following the completion of your initial birth plan session.
- Installment 3 ($1,000 balance): Due at 36 weeks gestation, preceding the commencement of our 24/7 on-call availability.
3. 24/7 On-Call Commitment
Your doula team enters dedicated 24/7 on-call status starting at 37 weeks gestation until the birth of your child. We remain within rapid driving radius and guarantee arrival at your chosen birth setting within 45 to 90 minutes of your notification of active labor.
4. Backup Doula Guarantee
In the rare event of severe illness, concurrent active births, or extraordinary emergencies, Alma DoulaCo provides a fully vetted, DONA/CAPPA certified backup doula who has reviewed your intake preferences and birth plan. You will never labor without continuous support.
5. Hospital, Birth Center & Home Birth Parameters
We support planned physiological home births attended by licensed midwives, accredited birth center births, and hospital deliveries. We advocate for your autonomous informed consent (BRAIN protocol) while maintaining collaborative, respectful relationships with your attending obstetricians and nurses.
6. Cancellation & Refund Policy
If the client relocates or chooses to terminate care prior to 32 weeks, subsequent installments are forgiven. Because due dates represent exclusive calendar reservations, payments rendered for completed visits or active on-call periods are non-refundable once on-call status begins at 37 weeks.
7. Emergency Transfer & Cesarean Delivery
Should labor necessitate unplanned medical interventions, induction, or cesarean birth, your doula continues uninterrupted support in the operating room (subject to hospital policy) and immediately during recovery and newborn skin-to-skin bonding.
